Impact Windows Installed from Hollywood
Impact windows are laminated glass in a tested frame — they stay in the opening after a debris hit so wind and water do not enter the house. We install PGT, CGI, ES Windows, and CWS from 3000 Stirling Rd, Hollywood, and pull the permit for Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach addresses.

What Are Impact Windows, and What Does HVHZ Change?
Impact windows are two panes of glass laminated to a PVB or similar interlayer inside a frame that has been tested for missile impact and cyclic wind pressure. If debris cracks the glass, the interlayer is supposed to keep the opening closed so the roof does not become a sail.
Miami-Dade and Broward are the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone. Replacement units there generally need a current Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance on the permit. Palm Beach County is a wind-borne debris region, not HVHZ — a Florida Product Approval (FL#) is often accepted. We do not copy a Broward NOA packet onto a Boca or West Palm job by default, and we do not sell an FL#-only unit into Miami.
Insurance credit is not automatic. Florida Statute §627.0629 requires carriers to offer wind-mitigation discounts. A licensed inspector documents openings on form OIR-B1-1802 (the April 1, 2026 revision is required for new inspections). Opening protection is all-or-nothing: one leftover unprotected window can zero the credit. The form is typically good for five years if the house is unchanged.
We are the dealer-installer at 3000 Stirling Rd, Hollywood — not PGT, CGI, ES, or CWS. Those factories make the units. We measure, permit, set the anchors on the approval, and leave the paperwork you need for the inspector and, later, the wind-mitigation inspector. See what impact windows cost, financing, and PGT if you are still choosing a line.
Why Do South Florida Homeowners Replace Shutters with Impact Glass?
Impact windows deliver a comprehensive package of protection, comfort, and value that no other home improvement can match.
Category 5 Hurricane Protection
Our impact windows are tested and certified to withstand wind speeds up to 200 mph and large missile impacts, meeting Florida Building Code and Miami-Dade NOA requirements.
Insurance Premium Discounts
A current OIR-B1-1802 inspection can unlock wind-mitigation credits once every opening is protected. The percentage is set by your carrier, not a guaranteed 45%.
Energy Efficiency Savings
Low-E coated impact glass reduces solar heat gain by up to 70%, dramatically lowering your air conditioning costs during South Florida's long, hot summers.
Superior Noise Reduction
Laminated impact glass reduces outside noise by up to 60%, shielding your home from traffic, construction, lawn equipment, and neighborhood noise throughout the day.
99% UV Ray Blocking
Protect your furniture, hardwood floors, artwork, and interior finishes from fading and sun damage with impact glass that blocks 99% of harmful ultraviolet radiation.
Year-Round Home Security
Impact windows provide 24/7 burglary deterrence. The laminated interlayer holds the glass together even when struck, making forced entry extremely difficult for intruders.

How much do impact windows cost in South Florida?
Impact window pricing varies based on size, style, glass type, and manufacturer. On average, South Florida homeowners invest between $500 and $1,500 per window including installation. Single hung impact windows are typically the most affordable, while large sliding or custom shapes cost more. We provide free in-home estimates with transparent pricing and flexible financing options starting at $89 per month.
Do impact windows really lower insurance premiums?
Yes. Florida law requires insurance companies to offer premium discounts for hurricane mitigation features, and impact windows qualify for some of the largest discounts available. Most South Florida homeowners see insurance savings of 20% to 45% on their windstorm premiums after full impact window installation. The exact savings depend on your carrier, policy, and whether you protect all openings.
What is the difference between impact windows and hurricane shutters?
Impact windows provide permanent, always-on hurricane protection built directly into the window frame and glass. Unlike shutters, there is nothing to deploy, store, or maintain before a storm. Impact windows also deliver year-round benefits like energy savings, noise reduction, UV blocking, and security. Hurricane shutters only protect during storms and must be manually installed or activated before each event.
How long does impact window installation take?
A typical whole-home impact window installation in South Florida takes 1 to 3 days depending on the number of windows and the complexity of the project. Our experienced crews usually complete an average-sized home (10 to 15 windows) in about two days. We handle all permits, inspections, and cleanup so you can enjoy your new windows with no hassle.
Are impact windows required by Florida building code?
Florida Building Code requires that all new construction and major renovations in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ), which includes Miami-Dade and Broward counties, use impact-rated windows or an approved alternative. Even outside the HVHZ, most South Florida municipalities require some form of hurricane protection on all glazed openings for new permits.
